F1T First Focus Areas

Over the course of Lisette's 25 years experience working in the fitness industry and coaching gymnastics, she has helped clients reclaim their fitness after injuries, avoid or delay surgery, reduce or eliminate pain by developing the right support muscles, and prevent problems due to known risks such as osteoporosis or serious muscle imbalance. Although the four areas below describe common categories of focus, every F1T First workout is fully designed for the unique physical and mental needs of each client on a given day to improve their overall quality of life.

Functional Training

Feel great doing all the things you love to do! Functional training is a practical approach to maintaining or improving your enjoyment of everyday activities as well as your favorite sports. This approach  involves the muscle combinations, balance and cardio you need to feel strong and confident doing everything from playing golf or lifting a child to simply getting out of a chair. Deep Stretch

Stretching is often treated as an extra to be rushed through when there is extra time.  But here's the deal: We need flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become efficient. When you then call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage. Effective stretching is not a five-minute thing. Deep stretch is slow, focused, controlled and ... well, deep

Preventative Care

Everyone has a unique set of health risks based on genetics, work environment, previous or current health conditions, recreational activities, etc. Exercise physiology involves a specific plan of physical activities designed to compliment, reduce or delay the need for other medical treatments and keep you doing the things you enjoy. Exercise as preventative care can also address a number of different problems beyond the scope of physical and chronic pain or injury such as low self-esteem, negative body image, depression, and anxiety. 

Injury Recovery

If you have trained to build muscle and lean tissue that has above normal strength, endurance, and power, you are optimally suited for the demands of your sport.  And you probably know that this level of training can lead to overuse, muscle imbalance and stress related issues.  FIT designs plans that are specific to this level of athlete. We will work with flexibility, recovery, and neuromuscular retraining to help you rehabilitate back to above normal levels.
